Support for Lahaina: Join Hands to Rebuild and Heal

August 10, 2023

Aloha,

Our hearts hurt for the families who lost their homes and loved ones in the catastrophic wildfire that tore through Lahaina on Tuesday night. With the destruction of over 271 structures and the latest death count of 36 people, the effect has been severe. Our close-knit community is going through a difficult period, but by working together, we can change things.

We encourage you to join us in helping the affected people and families as we give our support and compassion to those who are suffering. Three groups have been found to be actively supporting relief operations and giving crucial assistance to individuals in need:

Hawaii Red Cross: The Hawaii Red Cross is a leader in disaster relief, providing immediate aid, refuge, and support to people impacted by the wildfire. Your gift will directly support their efforts to console and assist displaced families.

Maui Humane Society: The evacuation has caused many pets to be separated from their owners. The Maui Humane Society is working tirelessly to reunite families with their cherished pets and give the animals harmed by the wildfire the care they require. Your contribution will enable them to carry out this important task.

Maui Food Bank: The wildfire has disturbed the lives of many families and left many of them food insecure. The Maui Food Bank is actively striving to feed those in need and aid in the recovery of the island.

We can significantly improve the lives of those impacted by this tragedy by working together. We cordially ask you to make a gift to any or all of these charities and serve as a glimmer of light for Lahaina. Your assistance is extremely valued and will be important in assisting our community in healing and reestablishing itself.

With sincere appreciation,
Your Friends at Lavahut
